What is a tracking number – Malta Post?

Malta Post has tracking numbers that resemble the typical tracking number combination but have the country abbreviation in it.

Malta Post packages have a similar tracking number to standard tracking numbers that are assigned to parcels that leave a country to travel abroad.

You can track any Malta Post package or shipment on Alltracking.com only having a tracking number.

This is not all – you can track as many packages on our website on the same day as you wish. Neither we nor Malta Post will limit you.

*A tracking number is a specific number assigned to each parcel just before being shipped. This number works as a unique ID code and allows people to follow and track their package till it reaches its destination.

With this unique combination of letters and numbers, you can easily find out where the parcel is while in different hubs in various cities and when it will depart to reach the destination. Giving each parcel its separate number helps to identify it in the best way possible.

The company's tracking numbers are meant to help you follow the order through from the departure point to the destination point without any second-guessing and doubts.

You enter the Track and Trace section, introduce the special combination you have, and have the information displayed to you. This is what an electronic post-global system helps customers do.

    Malta Post Postal Number Formats

Malta Post has a tracking number that consists of letters and digits that have their meaning.

Every combination on the receipt and the parcel assigned by Malta Post is specific and unique.

To track your parcel online, the system will ask you to introduce the tracking number you were given upon the parcel registration.

This number is yours and does not coincide with any other tracking number there is. The format is 2 letters, 9 digits, and 2 letters at the back of the row. The last two letters represent the country.

What does the Malta Post tracking number look like?

Parcels and courier delivery packages are assigned Malta Post tracking numbers, which can be used to find out where the shipments are and what status they have.

The sender may not register small packages and letters (less than 2 kg usually), so there will not be any tracking number.

The format of the Malta Post tracking number looks like this:

    RT123456785MT - small package from Malta;

    CA123456785MT - a parcel from Malta;

EE123456785MT – Express package from Malta.

The 13-digit track number is encrypted: the type of package is hidden ibehind the first letter, the uniqueness of the number is confirmed by the second letter, and all numbers are written in a combination.

The last two letters indicate the country of the postal service – MT for Malta.

    * A tracking number is a specific number assigned to each parcel before the shipping. This number works as a unique ID code and allows people to follow and track their package all the way to its final destination.

When you enter the combination of letters and digits you are most likely to find the updates immediately. Our online system offers them every 24 hours with tiny exceptions when the parcel has not reached the hub yet.

But let us tell you that no matter if it is your first ever package to track or the fifth, it is equally easy to do it.

Do not panic if you have not done it previously. Alltracking made is so simple for anyone involved in the tracking process.

If you enter the main page of the Alltracking website you will see the upper panel with a few buttons to click on.

The “Track and Trace” button on the upper panel is where you need to get when you want to find your package on our website.

Alltracking system is integrated with the global parcel tracking service that can track any goods you send via post from Malta with Malta Post so when you enter the “Track and Trace” page we will ask you to introduce the unique combination of digits and letters that you have printed on your receipt or confirmation letter in your email.

Track and Trace System in Malta

Packages sent and delivered by Malta Post are usually monitored within the system. They can be analyzed by the company itself or by enterprises like Alltracking.

Malta Post uses specific post technologies to give the customers access to the data that is associated with the packages and shipments that customers have unique tracking codes for.

This industry-specific and user-friendly information technology is for our post and freight tracking systems. That is why the parcels that Malta Post tracks are easy to monitor anywhere in the world.

Malta Post is a great logistics partner for any tracking website because it is:

-A part of a reliable online global tracking system that is available for you to enter 24/7

-Has integrated electronic invoices and statements

-Offers access to comprehensive reports as required by tracking websites to offer customers appropriate information.

This allows you to monitor the progress of any time of order to delivery end.

Do not hesitate to take advantage of the capabilities the system offers.

If you cannot explain the absence of information – think of it as a delay that will eventually be successful and the status will be shown after the package reaches a certain location.

Most of the time customers panic when the information is not  updated but we have to admit there can be a rather convincing reason.

There can be numerous explanations for the non-trackage of the parcel you need information for.

But before any panic starts, customers are advised to consider it being stuck in transit. This means that the status of the package has not changed in a long time and there is no news that the tracking website can share.

After any significant changes happen, the status of the parcel will change accordingly. But if you do not see it immediately do not consider the package lost – it can just be temporarily delayed.

Malta Post takes very good care of the parcels as the trust rating is too high to let anyone down. Even though most cases are successful, this cannot be 100% of the cases. Issues do appear. From time to time this can happen to anyone.

Malta Post employees are usually very attentive and caring when it comes to all the actions that need to be done, going the extra mile for the customers to be satisfied but 100% of cases simply cannot always be successful.

The parcel may be lost on the way to the final destination. These cases are rare but they do exist.

In case this happens please contact the Malta Post Customer Service team for further assistance.

The investigation will need to take place and the company will take the responsibility of offering you a solution.

Please note that you will be asked to offer information that will help to investigate the case.

It usually takes up to 48 hours to get a response from the Customer Service team.

The complaints, appraisals, suggestions, and tracking number information requests can be submitted.

But the lost parcel is not the only possible variant here. The parcel can also be stuck in transit, the goods can be stuck at customs, and delayed for any reason at all.

The Customer Service team will be able to provide you with all the answers you need. Keep an eye on their reply.

Whether you want to complain or have any suggestions, feel free to contact the Customer Service team at Malta Post.

Usually, customers have the following claims that the Customer Service team deals with:

    1) Tracked packages that did not reach the destination

At Malta Post, when the task is not performed, the item is either returned to the sender or returned to the Mail Redistribution Centre.

If you printed the wrong address on the shipping label, didn't include a return address, or poorly packaged the item, Malta Post cannot be held responsible for it.

In most of the other cases, the Malta Post delivery company will investigate the case and refund you.

    2) Damaged tracked parcels

If the item arrives damaged, the first thing you need to do is get in contact with the seller as soon as possible. ( this is for those who purchased an item online that was later on sent with Malta Post).

The seller will discuss the issue with the respective post company. In this case, the seller is responsible for the condition of the items when you receive them.

If the item is damaged you can enclose pictures, and put it all in writing, ideally in an email that you need to send to the seller. The seller then will investigate what happened with Malta Post and either refund you or give you a substitute product.

    3) Confiscated tracked items

Companies from Malta engaged in delivery may still have packages delayed for reasons beyond their control even if they are super professional in what they do.

If a package contains a prohibited item when entering Malta or another country (if the package originates from  Malta and goes abroad), then it will most likely be confiscated at customs by officials).
