The history of Belize Post
Belize Post has a proven history, especially when it comes to catastrophic fires. The original post office appears to have been located in the Court House, but it would later have been located in Regent Street, where it was completely destroyed by fire in 1909, along with all postal records.
Stocks of postage stamps were kept in the Treasury and were thus preserved. A post office was then established in the Council Chambers in the public buildings.
On Saturday, August 17, 1918, a catastrophic fire broke out between the Main Post Office and the District Commissariat.
The main post office and all its equipment were completely destroyed and the post office's stamp stock was temporarily housed on Albert Street, and in fact was to remain there until a new post office was erected as part of the public service in the 1930s.
The post office moved to its current location in the 1940s and was housed in the Paslow Building.
Paslow's building was destroyed in a fire in September 2002. The post office then moved entirely to the Biddles building, which housed only the parcel department.

- In a memorandum dated January 7, 1830, sent by the settlement's managers to the magistrates, they were informed that the British Mexican Pocket (ship) would make regular calls to Belize for the primary purpose of delivering mail. He placed Captain Moriaty of the 2nd Western Regiment in charge of all such letters.
Thus, it can be said that January 7, 1830 is the official date of the establishment of the post office in Belize, with Captain Moriati as the first postmaster.
